Religion~
John 6:53-51

I had the kids find the verse in the Bible and read it. They then worked on their cursive handwriting worksheet I created.

Latin~
Gloria

Please see my general post on how we do Latin. It explains it all. We are still using the Chant CD.

Geography~

We labeled our map and got to work on pages for our geography notebook!

Niger

Chad

Nigeria

Cameroon

Central African Republic

Sao Tome and Principe

Gulf of Guinea~ Fun Facts and Information

Math~

Multiples of 12

I had the kids work on a few pages of 12 multiplication facts.

Science~ Biomes

This week we are learning about the eight major biomes. Our librbay was filled with a wonderful selection of books about all the different regions. It was amazing. We picked out a few (O.K. we picked out a lot) to read. A few we checked out just for the pictures. They were stunning!
Here are some links to a few resources we used during this week's lesson. I will admit, we spent a lot more time on this than two weeks. The kids learned a lot and had fun creating their projects.

Here is what the kids worked on for their study of Biomes. They created dioramas for a most of the different environments.

History~ China

Like always, we headed to the library to check out some books about China. The first book I grabbed was the DK China book. They always are filled with a ton of information.

This week, the kids learned about the Opium Wars, the Taiping Rebellion, the Boxer Rebellion, the overthrow of the Ching Dynasty in 1911, and the Communist government.

Great Words~
My Captain! My Captain! by Walt Whitman

We are still working through this poem. The kids are doing a fantastic job so far! Now that they are older, I think writing the poem out as copy work helps them retain it better.

Till Next Time,
Monique
