Good Morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had a rainy weekend with temperatures dropping. We were originally supposed to get ice and 1-3 inches of snow, but thankfully that storm system headed further north. Good for us, but not so great for our northern friends.

The kids were excited for the Super Blood Wolf Moon that was visible last night. They stayed up until midnight to catch  a glimpse of it. It was freezing outside!

Welcome to another edition of Happy Homemaker Monday!
Head on over and visit for awhile.

Right now I am....

sitting at the our new kitchen island. It's a nice spot to drink my coffee. I love watching the birds that have built their winter nest on our porch.

What's for breakfast....

eggs collected from the hen house and some bacon. Nothing taste likes a farm fresh egg. The chickens are nestled safe and warm in their hen house. It's too cold here to let them out.

What I am thinking about....

all the lesson I need to work on with the kids this week.

The weather....

it's cold. I mean freezing. It's currently 5 degrees here. We are dealing with the coldest temperatures so far this winter. It's going to 7 degrees tonight and it's going to feel even cold with the windchill.

What I'm wearing....

my UGG boots to keep my feet warm, leggings, and a warm sweater. Comfy, comfy, comfy!

What's on my to do list for the week....

Monday.... a day off from school since Dad is home
Tuesday...school, clean the bathrooms, and laundry
Wednesday...school, clean the kitchen & dinning room, and laundry
Thursday...school, clean bedrooms, laundry, and nail appointment
Friday...school
Saturday...nothing planned yet
Sunday....Mass and teaching my little first graders after Mass. I love helping this little ones learn more about Jesus. This week, we are learning about Saint Joan of Arc, the virtue of Fortitude, and The Beatitudes. Youth group meeting for the kids

What's on the menu for the week....

Monday....Tacos
Tuesday...Sloppy Joe Potato Bowls
Wednesday...Chinese Orange Chicken
Friday...Pizza
Saturday...Crock Pot Carnitas
Sunday...Dinner Out

What I'm Reading....

I'm currently reading How to Pray by C.S. Lewis. I just finished reading Fly Away by Kristin Hannah last night. I really enjoyed this story. I finished the new book from Nora Roberts, Of Blood and Bone last week. It's not one of my favorite trilogies from Nora Roberts, but it wasn't too bad. I don't think this set will be one I reread later on.

What I'm working on....

I'm painting a shelf fro my kitchen. The shelf was in the kitchen before the remodel, but now it doesn't match so I'm painting it a cream color to match the cabinets.

From the camera...

Not pretty, but interesting.
Michael found bear scat on the property. I guess we've had a bear wandering around at night.

What I'm praying for....

my two aunts. One was recently diagnosed with cancer and the other one is in the hospital. They are both in their 80's so things get a little tricky at that age. I'm also praying for an end to abortion since the March for Life was this past Friday.

Quote for the Week....

Till Next Time,

  1. Glad your kids were able to see the moon. I was excited about that as well but it was too cloudy here. Wow, a bear wandering around seems exciting and scary all at the same time. Prayers for your aunts' health. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

  2. Really awesome peek at your week ahead!! I so miss my HSing days. I give you a lot of credit for continuing the HS journey ahead thru HS!
I miss those HS recap blog posts! Love living vicariously thru you! xoxoxo

Good luck with the shelf! I wound up painting my kitchen cabinets in the SPring. One thing led to another and before I knew it I was painting molding, trim, doors...... the house really need to be freshened up. A coat of paint does wonders. I would love to redo the kitchen but we'll be moving in about 2 years so it won't be happening. Maybe in my new house I'll get my dream kitchen.

The chicken recipe looks yummy!! Have you made it before? I may sub to the blog. I really like what she shares!
