Mountain of Grace Homeschooling

Last weekend we received a foot of snow and they are calling for a few inches this weekend along with some freezing temperatures. Sounds fun doesn't?

All this snow got me started thinking about all the fun times I had with the kids reading books about snow. We'd curl up on the couch near the fire with some delicious hot coco after spending a few hours outside playing in the snow.

Reading charming storybooks is one of the things I miss the most. I no longer have little ones to climb into my lap for story time, but I do have the wonderful memories of those times. I asked the kids what their favorite stories were and here a few of the ones they enjoyed.

The Three Bears by Jan Brett
*We love all her books.

The Big Snow by Berta and Elmer Hader

The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
We did a unit study with this book.

Owl Moon by Jane Yolen

Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs

Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner

I used this book for an art project a few years ago. They kids loved it!

The Biggest Snowman Ever by Steven Kroll

This was one of Therese's favorite books when she was little.

The Family Under the Bridge by Natalie Carlson

This was one of our favorite read-alouds.

The Mitten by Jan Brett

Do you kids have some favorite snow themed books?

Till Next Time,
Monique
