Hello there....Good Morning!
It's sunny here and the birds are chirping. It's quite nice outside right now. The humidity isn't too bad yet. I know by this afternoon, it's going to be a little uncomfortable. This weekend was a nice one. We spent Saturday together as a family. We went back to school shopping...fun, fun, fun. The kids picked out some new school supplies and a few new clothes. It'll still be hot here in September, so clothes for the fall are not quite that important yet. I bought some new fall candle scents from Yankee Candle. I love their Autumn Wreath scent.
Sunday was a relaxing day at home for Therese and I The boys went to run errands, like taking the trash to the dump. I had a migraine so not much was done. Thankfully, I'm feeling better now.
How was your weekend?

So let's get on with Happy Homemaker Monday!
Grab a cup of coffee and visit for a bit.

~What I'm Doing Right Now~

I'm currently typing up this blog post. I've already started a load of laundry. I'm washing blankets we use on the couch. They smell like dog, so they needed to be cleaned. I'll be hanging them out on the clothes. After finishing this post, I'll be grading the kids math lesson. We haven't officially started school, but they both have some catch up to do when it comes to math.

~The Weather~

It's warm, but not hot and miserable.

Tuesday~ Mostly Sunny, 89*
Wednesday~ Scattered Thunderstorms, 88*
Thursday~ Mostly Sunny, 88*
Friday~ Mostly Sunny, 84*
Saturday~ Mostly Sunny, 84*
Sunday~ Mostly Sunny, 87*

~What's for Breakfast~

Coffee! I was going to cook a few eggs, but then changed my mind. I then got busy and now it's closer to lunch, so I'll just wait for lunch. I even forgot to finish my coffee. I'm forever finding cups of cold coffee around the house.

~What I'm Reading~

I actually have three books going right now.
Here's to Us by Elin Hilderbrand and The Summer of Sunshine and Margot by Susan Mallery.

I'm also reading a gardening book. I'm trying to get plans together, so I can create a country cottage garden in the back yard. I found a fantastic book at the library called, Front Yard Gardens that has tons of pictures. I think I may have to purchase the book, so I can make notes about what I like.

~What's for Dinner~

Monday~ Garlic butter chicken with roasted potatoes
Tuesday~ Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, corn on the cob, potato salad
Wednesday~ Oven-fried chicken, mac n'cheese, and salad
Thursday~ Spaghetti and meatballs
Friday~ Leftovers or Pizza
Saturday~ Sports Banquet
Sunday~ Not sure yet

~Around the House~

We are starting our week/weeks of deep cleaning. I want to get the house cleaned well before we start back to school. Today, my goal is the living room and kitchen. I plan on starting on the school room too. It's still a disaster!

~To Do List for the Week~

Pool day with friends
Vet appointment... I messed up last week. We went to the vet and our appointment wasn't on the schedule. I wrote it down on the wrong day, so we head back again.
Therese has a consultation appointment fr her wisdom teeth. It looks like she'll be getting them out soon. Hopefully things go well.

~Pictures of the Week~

and

Yes, these are repeats but I'll explain why. This little guy is showing some balance issues. We are hoping he just has an ear infection. Sadly, the worse cause scenario is that he has a cat disease that is similar to cerebral palsy. If it's this, there isn't much we can do for him. So I'm asking for prayers for this little guy. He has formed quite the bond with Therese. He chases her down the hall and cuddles up on her lap while she reads. Her last cat got sick and died a few years ago. I'd hate for her to have to go through that all again. If you could say a quick pray that would be great! It would break this mama's heart to have go through this again.

~Quote for the Week~

Till Next Time,
Monique

  1. Your menu sounds yummy, what a busy week you have planned! That is a great quote, and I will be thinking of you at the vet.

  2. I keep thinking I need to do a few weeks of deep cleaning (too late to have it done by school start around here, next week!) for fall. Praying your cat simply has a little ear infection and nothing more serious. Hope you have a great week!

  3. You menu sounds so simple but so very good. I may have to do some hamburgers this week too. I think cottage gardens are just so very cute. I've always wanted the space to have one. Hope your little guy gets good news and feels better very soon.

  6. Hope it's nothing serious for your cat. Too hot here, wish we had a bit cooler temperatures, can't do deep cleaning with the hot temps. Have a great week
