Good Morning, dear friends. I know it has been a long time since I last posted. Let's just say 2022 has sucked so far. It has been shaping up to be about as much fun as the past two years. Actually, I'd say this year so far is the worst. If I could go back to the week before Christmas and start over I would.

We've had a rough start. We've been getting over being sick for the entire family. My dad is finally off oxygen and slowly getting better.  We lost my father-in-law. He passed away in January and our lives are not the same. We lost a caring and loving man. He was a gentle giant of a man. I always thought of him as a giant teddy bear. It's been hard. I go from crying to forgetting he's gone. Maybe I just don't want him to be gone. I know he's in a better place with God and he's no longer in pain, but that doesn't take our pain away.  He was so much a part of our daily lives. I am thankful the kids had the past year with him. Having him live with us allowed them to learn more about the man he was in his younger days and more about the man he became. The bond they formed with him was strong and so very special. It's something I know they will cherish forever.

In February,  we were dealing with my father-in-law's cat who had pneumonia. She is finally better. She lost quite a bit of weight, but I'm sure losing your human will do that to a cat. She is warming up to us and now comes running up to us. Baby steps!

Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, we lost our sweet, Rocket, yesterday. Last week, he started showing signs of a blocked bladder, things progressed quickly, and finally, his kidneys started to fail. We had to make the difficult decision to end his suffering. He was such a special cat. He followed people around like a dog. He trilled through the house as he walked about. He greeted you every morning for hugs and kisses. He was my morning coffee buddy. The house just seems empty without him.

I honestly feel like I can't take much more. I'm hanging on by string right now. My emotions are all over the place. I'm angry, sad, devasted...
I keep trying to find the good, but I have to admit at times it is pretty hard to do.

Let's get on with Happy Homemaker Monday.

Three cups of coffee... I haven't been sleeping all that well.  I finally have my taste and sense of smell back. The kids and I had egg and cheese sandwiches.

Looking Around the House~

Ugh....it's a disaster. The yard is muddy and last week I was running poor Rocket around to different vets. I need to do a full house cleaning, but I honestly haven't had the motivation to do it.

Currently Reading~

I'm currently reading the second book in the Bluebird Bay Series by Denise Grover Swank. It's called Finding Home. the books follow a wonderful family and focus on three sisters.

I'm also listening to Father Mike, his Bible in a Year Podcast. You can find out more at Ascension Press.

I started 3 different books for Lent to further my faith, but I'll admit I've dropped the ball on them. My plan is to start back this week.

What the Kids are Reading~

They started back to school in January, but things have been so crazy here that they've been doing school at odd times and on the weekend. I honestly haven't looked to see what they are reading or done the past few weeks. My plan is to catch up on my grading this week.
