How does the system work? In four easy steps: watch the video, do the worksheet, take the quiz, and earn the badge!

Each course includes video tutorials, lessons, a dashboard for parents and each student, quizzes that are scored and recorded. In addition to all that, students can earn medallions and badges for continued motivation. Encouragement is essential for creating a love of learning, especially if a child is struggling.

Each course has 10 sections. Within each section are various lessons to work through. At the end of each section, the students will complete a quiz before moving on to the next section. At the end of each course, students will complete a final quiz or test.

Video tutorials help explain new concepts to students or help a student who is struggling understand the concepts. Explanations are simple and easy to understand.

Clear and concise instructions are included with each lesson. Older students can easily work through the program on their own.

We found the worksheets pages to be the same pages from the Math Essential book No-Nonsense Algebra. My son had already completed that particular book, so he found the lessons a little repetitive. 

What We Thought of MathandAlgebra.com?

It was an easy transition for us, since we had already used the Math Essential books in the past. My son found the lessons repetitive since he had worked through the books over the past few years. I have always enjoyed this program as an add on to our math lessons. I think it is a wonderful addition that helps create a strong foundation in math, especially for those struggling. However, I do not think it is a full, stand-alone math curriculum. However, it is an excellent source for reinforcement learning. Students could easily work through the courses during the summer months or when they have some extra free time.

The material is presented in a clear and precise manner. Lessons are relatively short. They should take the student about 20 minutes. I would  recommend this resource for students in middle school and high school.

 Teaching our kids how to be responsible when it comes to their personal finance is a necessity in life. Too often young adults enter the world without understanding how important their financial knowledge it. I was thrilled when we were offered the opportunity to review Personal Finance Illustrated© Homeschool Edition from PEM Life.

How many of us enter the world out on our own without knowing what we needed to know?

For this review, we received an online subscription with 6 months of access. Personal Finance Illustrated© Homeschool Edition is designed to be taught during a single semester and access to the materials is provided for 6 months. The course is $199 for the first students. Each additional student in the family is $99. All students will receive access to all the materials provided, including their own quizzes and assignments.

What is Personal Finance Illustrated© Homeschool Edition?

Personal Finance Illustrated© Homeschool Edition offers two versions, a standard version and a biblical based version. The core content of both versions is the same. The Biblically based version contains 3 extra units focusing on topics of work and finances from God's perspective. 

The course comes with a detailed road map. An instructor guide and lesson plans are provided to make teaching the course extremely easy! The resources provided allow flexibility for the homeschooling family.

Each unit contains an instructor guide, a video on the lesson, assignments, resources, quizzes, writing assignment, discussion topic, and a reflection/review section.

How We Used the Program?

First off, there are two ways this program can be used. The first way is for the parent to take on the role of the instructor. The PowerPoints, worksheets, note pages, and resources allow parents to teach the course, even if they have no financial background. Many of the resources can be printed out and stored in a binder for easy access.

The second way is to allow the student to work through the program on their own. They would watch the videos, complete the online assignments, and quizzes. All the resources the student would need are included in the course. The students would follow and work through the tabs in each unit. 

We worked through a few lessons but did fall behind. We've had a lot of issues going on at home and just couldn't keep up with our lessons. With their full course load, this class was a little difficult to stay on top of. It was like adding another math class to their already heavy course load. I would love an option to do this course during 2 semesters. Trying to complete it in 1 semester on top of all their other subjects is a little tough. It would be a great 1 semester course for a high school senior who uses this course for their main math class that year. I would love to see a suggested schedule for this course too. I think it would greatly help parents and students.

This is a rigorous course. I highly recommend printing out all the pdfs and creating your students a binder to keep everything in order. This will help them understand the topics being covered and will help them if they do not understand a concept.

Hello there! I'd love to say good morning, but it's already 2:30 here. I had a busy morning full of errands.....library, car inspection, grocery store, bank, etc. To make my morning even more exciting, I was rear-ended just as I started my errands. Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was very little damage to either vehicle.  Just a few cosmetic scratches.

We've have some chilly temps the past few days. I even saw a few snow flurries this morning. We're now looking at a few days of warmer temps coming up. Not normal temps for this time of year.

❀❀~How I'm feeling this morning~❀❀

Physically, I'm feeling ok today. I honestly think I'm just used to the pain now. My shoulder is still messed up. Allergies have kicked in a little, but they're not too bad. I'm a little concerned with the elections tomorrow. I worried about the outcome and how people will react when the have to deal with the outcome of this extremely important election. I just keep praying things will work out and I keep telling myself that I have to trust in God's plan.

❀❀~What I'm doing right now~❀❀

I'm writing up this post and then I have a few reviews to work on that are due this week. I can't believe this year's review season is already coming to an end. This has been the weirdest year. It feels like it has been dragging on for forever, but then at the same time I have no clue where the time went. It feels like one, long tedious day or month!

❀❀~ What's on my mind~❀❀

I have a huge list of things I need to get done, so they are all on my mind. I'm anxious about the election. I'm worried about our country. I would love for people to come together and work together for a better America. 

❀❀~What they kids are up to~❀❀

The kids have been busy with school and helping around the house with repairs and upgrades. Michael got his driver's license a few weeks ago, so he's been helping with the errands. The both have been busy talking and hanging out with friends. Pretty much a normal life for them.

❀❀~What's for breakfast~❀❀

A quick cup of coffee as I headed out the door. 

❀❀~My current reading pile~❀❀

I've been reading The Scarlett Letter with the kids for school, along with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I once lived in the town of Sleepy Hollow. They have an awesome time celebrating Halloween. 

For me, I'm currently reading Whose Waves These Are by Amanda Dykes.

❀❀~Music I'm listening to~❀❀

I've been listening to some country music lately...Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride, Sara Evans, etc. 

❀❀~What I'm working on~❀❀

I've been working on nothing. I'm still currently only able to use one arm, so things are still a little difficult around here.

❀❀~What new for me~❀❀

Not too much. 

I finally have a doctor's appointment with a specialist tomorrow for my shoulder. I finished 6 weeks of physical therapy 2 weeks ago and have been dealing with my doctor's office and insurance trying to get a referral. It finally came through. I get x-rays tomorrow and get to see the specialist. Hopefully, I can find out whether or not I'll need surgery. I still can't raise my arm above my head. 

I did sign up to be a consultant for Scentsy. I love their warmers! I just received my cute gingerbread warmer and I can't wait to decorate for Christmas!

I have a few other items coming soon and I can't wait!

Things are crazy around here. Rooms are still out of order, but we're making do. I've been doing a little at a time, but it's a slow process. I desperately need to vacuum. The pet hair is everywhere.

This is an old one, but one of my favorites. It's been 4 years since we lost this little guy and I still miss him. We found him when he was just 2 weeks old, bottle fed him, and watched him grow. He died way too soon.
