Hello friends and welcome to another addition of Happy Homemaker Monday! It's actually Tuesday, so I'm a day late. Yesterday was an errand day, so I didn't get a chance to post.

Memorial Day came and went.. a day we should honor and remember all the brave men and women who have served for our great country protecting our rights and freedoms. It's always struck me as odd that people seem to get together, cook out, and have a party. It just doesn't seem fitting. We're a military family. Both my husband and I have family members who have served. Both are fathers and our grandfathers served. My husband's grandfather received a purple heart.  My hubby served. Currently, my cousin's son is serving. Pride in our country and in the brave men and women who serve it is important.

It's hard to imagine a week later after this important holiday, we see our country in turmoil again. I pray for the all the people affected and our great country. The sadness, despair, anger, tension, and fear throughout our nation worries me for so many reasons.

It's hard to believe it's the end of the month already! I'm really not sure were April and May went. I really hope the rest of the summer doesn't fly by like the last 2 months have. 2020 will definitely be a year that is remembered for years to come.

Our weekend was a quite one. We stayed at home working on some house repairs and the garden. My garden boxes are done and we have plants growing~ Tomatoes, beans, beets, radishes, cucumbers, squash, watermelon, and cantaloupe are just a few of the goodies growing.

I did get a chance to sit in the sun and read a book for bit. It was so nice to relax a bit.

So let's get on with Happy Homemaker Monday (on a Tuesday)
Don't forget to stop by and visit with Sandra over at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

❀❀~How I'm feeling this morning~❀❀

No to bad this morning. I had a migraine last week. Of course, it came on while I was trying to clean out my classroom at the church. They're painting the rooms this summer, so I had to take everything down. Thankfully, Therese was there and helped finish the room. She was a God send. I was nervous I wouldn't be able to drive home. It was that bad. I forgot to take my allergy pills for two days, so my allergies cam back with a vengeance. Itchy, watering eyes that were swollen and puffy. Not fun at all.

❀❀~ What's on my mind~❀❀

Our country! I'm feeling a little unsure and nervous about the state of our country. So many cities being destroyed. I worry about how our nation will overcome the affects of businesses being closed for months and know more businesses being destroyed. I fear for the people who live in the cities being destroyed....their homes and livelihood being burned to the ground. Hardworking men and women, innocent men and women whose lives are being shattered. This isn't how our nation should be. I honestly didn't think my kids would see this country on such a downward spiral. I'm praying things will get better soon and we can make our country stronger and better in the end.

❀❀~What they kids are up to~❀❀

The kids are officially done school for the year. They both will work on math during the summer to catch up and get ahead. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with them all summer. Swim team has been officially canceled. Their shooting competitions for state and nationals has been postponed. Our church's work camp is on hold,  but they are trying to figure out a way to do hold it on a smaller scale. I think they both want things to go back to normal.

❀❀~What's for breakfast~❀❀

I had an egg and cheese sandwich on gluten free bread. Coffee was also consumed. I don't start any day without coffee.

❀❀~My current reading pile~❀❀

I finishing up The Summer of Sunshine and Margot. I bought it last year, started it, and then never finished it. So I decided to pull it of the shelf and give it a go again. I'm almost done and I love it!

❀❀~TV shows/movies I'm watching~❀❀

Therese and I are in season 6 of Gilmore Girls. Other than that I'm not really watching much TV. I'm usually reading when the boys are watching TV.

❀❀~What I'm working on~❀❀

I finished both wreaths I was working on. I've decided to make another yellow one and I'm making one with red. white, and blue for the Fourth of July. I want to make a summer/watermelon themed one too! I'll just need to get the supplies I need from the store.

❀❀~Looking around the house~❀❀

The house needs vacuumed and mopped. The cat and dog hair is driving me crazy!!
I need to thin out the books the kids no longer need. I'm slowly trying to reclaim the school room into my craft/sewing room.
