Legend of the Candy Cane

Yesterday, as part of our Advent lessons, we read the Legend of the Candy Cane.

It is a wonderful tale about the Candy Cane. We sat down together on the couch, eating our candy canes, to read this beautiful story.
The candy cane is a wonderful tool to reinforce the meaning of Christmas. The cane looks like a J, representing Jesus, when held upside down. When held upright, it look likes a shepherds crook, who were the first to see the star. The red stripe represents the blood of Jesus and the white represents the pureness of our souls when Jesus forgives us our sins!

After reading the story, we created candy canes for our Christmas tree.

We used wire, red and white beads, scissors, and ribbon.

The kids had fun and that's what matters the most!
