Classically Catholic Memory~ Delta Year Week 2

Geography~

This week, the kids moved onto learning about latitude and longitude. After labeling the CCM map, the kids worked on labeling worksheets. Everyday we would go over the CCM map and then I would have the kids fill in their own sheets.

Here are the maps we used for this week.

Science~ Leaves

This week, the kids learned how to classify leaves by their characteristics. The CCM book has a wonderful section in the back of the book that clearly explains and shows kids the difference. It helps them see the various shapes, veins, etc.

After reviewing the pages from the book, we headed outdoors to collect a variety of leaves to look at and classify. The kids did a fantastic job with comparing them to their worksheet to figure out what type of leaves they are.

Great Words~
We are working on the second stanza of "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" by William Butler Yeats.
We are still reciting the poem together. I then have the kids recite it by themselves. I am always amazed at how well the memorize the lessons. By reciting it everyday they really do retain the lines. There minds are amazing! I wish I could remember things as quickly as they could.

Till next time,
 ~Monique
