March 2 was Dr. Seuss' birthday.
A fellow home school mother had planned a Dr. Seuss party in honor of his birthday. Sadly, we had to cancel the event on his birthday because of families having the flu and our car's battery dying.
So we finally got to celebrate last Friday.
She did a wonderful job creating crafts to go along with the books.
She started off the party with a quiz about Dr. Seuss and his books. It had 10 questions.
Lego Man got 9 out of 10 questions correct. I was really impressed of his Dr. Seuss knowledge.
The one question he missed....
What was Dr. Seuss' first book?
She created crafts for a few of Dr. Seuss' books.
The Cat in the Hat
We created hats!
The Foot Book
We tried to paint with our feet!
A heart.
It's not as easy as it looks.
Some of the little ones gave up on the paint brushes and dipped their toes into the paint.
Horton Hears a Who
We created our own little Whovilles.
There's a Wocket in my Pocket
The kids got to create their own wockets using felt for the pockets and paper to create their wockets.
To make the wockets sturdier, we lamented them.
The Lorax
We had cotton candy!
What better way to bring to life the Truffula Trees.
Yummy!
Another mother brought some fruit along with some chocolate teddy grahams.
Brown Bar-Ba-Loots
